My Beautiful Family- this was taken last August.

Apple Tree Limb Fence

On Saturday Kendall helped me out with some pruning... well maybe that is the other way around. If you can picture me holding the extention ladder keeping my eyes closed because I just couldn't watch and to avoid getting saw dust in my eyes and Kendall holding on for dear life with one hand and chainsaw in the other. They were some pretty stubborn limbs but Kendall did not let them win! Boy were they sorry when he was finished! ha ha They were hanging above the house and we have been needing to take them down for a while. It is a really large Apple tree and we are going to be trimming on it a lot in the next couple of years to get it so that it is easier to pick the apples and also in hopes of getting some bigger apples. So once we were done with the trimming I decided that I didn't want to load the limbs for the green dump to utilize when I could put it to use right here in my own yard. As they say..."Waste Not, Want Not!" So I had an idea. Chloe our Golden Retriever has been chewing on my little lilac bushes that we planted last spring and I was not very happy about that so I decided to build a little fence with the limbs from the apple tree. No supplies needed!! At first I tried to get it so that it would weave together like a basket but that was not working out so I had to get out the bailing wire. With the posts I left some of the stronger branches on them and attached it to the next post with the bailing wire. It actually turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! Just planted my Peas under the fence and plan on helping them climb up it. So there you go. I think I will start posting some of the fun projects that I do around my 116 year old home.

Kendall's Back

So last Saturday Kendall was working on building our Golden Retriever Chloe a Whelping Box. She was about to have her puppies and we needed a place for the puppies. I was trying to get the trailer with our 4 foot mower on it hooked up to the suburban so that we could take it off and if Kendall felt up to it he could mow the lawn later. He noticed I was having trouble getting it on the ball so he came over to help. The suburban was too high for it so Kendall thought he would just lift the trailer up onto the ball being just a few inches from being on. Well he lifted and felt pain shoot up his spine. He looked as though he was about to pass out. He made it into the house and thought he would lay down and see if that would make it feel better. I got my sisters to take my kids to the Spanish Fork Reservoir and then I called the Ambulance. So off to the the ER at Payson Hospital. They took X-rays and did some tests and came to the conclusion that he had torn all the muscles in his lower back. So they sent him home with some medication to help him heal and he started Physical Therapy on Monday for it. Kendall's PT said that he was running out of body parts for him to work on. hee hee
Any way the Patio is on hold for a bit. Hope to get some of his friends over to help get it done because if Kendall starts feeling better he will do more then he should and hurt himself worse. Chloe had her Pups on Friday night July 2, 2010. She started having them at about 7:15 PM and had her last one around 11:30 PM. Eight puppies in all. They are really cute. We think the father was the Yellow Lab in the neighborhood. So if anyone wants a puppy let me know. Not that anyone is even following my blog. Oh well.

Patio

So I guess that blogging is the way to stay in touch and let people know that you haven't dropped off the face of the earth therefore I think I will try to keep this updated for the masses.
Our latest project at our house is a patio. It is going to look gorgeous. We are using some Red Rocks and got some Red sandstone for the Patio itself. The red sandstone we got from a company that supplies rock for big projects like temples. The sandstone was used on the Walt Disney World Headquarters Building. Our fire pit is part of one of the columns from the Utah State Capitol Building. It is really starting to pull together. We hope to have some really great places for people to get pictures taken right in our yard.

Our House

Ok so people have been dying to know what is going on with our house so here it is...
We are not in it yet but very soon. It is a completely new home. I really didn't think it was possible to make my 114 year old home look new but the amazing contractors have done a great job. Yes I have pics of the whole process but we have been without our own computer for a long time, since Oct. 6, 2008 and so we haven't had the opportunity to share so I will be giving everyone the chance to see the whole process. I wish I was able to let you all live through the process as we lived through it and some of you were there leaky roof and all. Anyway I will see what I can do to let you all see what has happened with us the last 4 months. We are hoping to be in the house by Halloween 2009 just kidding :) We are really hoping it is only a couple more weeks maybe by Valentines Day. So I will write more soon and try to figure out how to upload some pics.
